Hey, y’all,

It’s your Artists On Wheels here, to share with you a gem we have found.

From hauntingly beautiful architecture to wide open spaces, Denver has it all, and no shortage of the arts is to be found. As if in anticipation of the imminent arrival of the Denver branch of the infamous Meow Wolf, a new type of art seems to be proliferating: the immersive art experience. We visited Spectra Art Space to immerse ourselves, and were not disappointed.

When you enter Spookadelia II: The Candy Conjuring (Sugar Plum Scarry’s Revenge), you are immediately transported to another world. A world filled with psychedelic surprises, cotton candy clouds,  sugar zombies, and two lovable characters that were born out of current social and environmental issues. A world you can explore and interact with, and one that’s just spooky enough but still family-friendly. Each room is a work of art and made lovingly by the united hands of numerous local artists. How cool is that?

Spectra Art Space serves as more than a home for these off the wall installations, as an art gallery, event center, and learning space as well. They offer classes for the learners of all levels, support artists both well known and starting out, and host a wide variety of community gatherings. While the world needs more places like Spectra in it, it sure is one of a kind! Check it out for yourself!
